Got a knock on the door around 10pm a few days ago. A frazzled looking neighbour says, "This is awkward. Is your roommate home?"
The neighbour, a rather energetic, middle-aged woman, needed help with an international design project. Her architectural firm was to present their project to an English-speaking pannel of judges in the near future, and needed a native speaker to perform a short voice-over for a Power Point presentation.
So we decided to help her out; the office was nearby & even though there was no pay involved, she was a neighbour.
Anyway, 2 hours later, the Kid finished up the voice-over stuff, while I finished copyediting their presentation and other marketing collateral. The prize at the end of it? Some local Taiwanese tea, and some calendars autographed by the firm's head honcho.
Clearly, the boss didn't quite get the concept of an autograph.
***UPDATE***
It won!
